QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE

  • How did you start dealing in antique and vintage French textiles?
We both come from a love of design and fabric, and together bring an admiration and respect for handmade, traditional, and timeless textiles. In 2017 we each travelled to France separately, meeting up near Carcassonne to stay with friends in the beautiful maison d'hôte. Finding local flea markets and brocantes, we started collecting pieces to repurpose. This was doomed as we fell in love with the pieces as is, and could not bear to cut into the handmade antique textiles. So we started selling as is, mostly at markets in Sydney, and it all grew from there. Now we are living in France, sourcing every week, and making pieces to sell in our online store.
  • Where do you source your textiles?
We source from all over France mostly, with some pieces from Europe too. Where we have the background to a product, we share the detail. We find pieces in brocantes, flea markets, antique shops, through dealers, and private collections. All of our pieces are scrutinised for quality and condition, some we keep to use for projects, and the perfect (or perfectly imperfect!) pieces are laundered and ironed to be sold as is.
  • Do you make your products?
Yes we do! While we stock ready made antique and vintage products (tea towels, sheets, table linen, garments, etc) we also make products too. Most popular are our bespoke feather filled cushions, made from vintage fabrics and antique grain sacks, and even old post bags. Another one of our popular products are the table runners made from antique grainsacking. Handwoven in linen, hemp, and sometimes cotton, with vibrant stripes, these pieces can be made to length to suit your table. Coming soon are garments made from vintage textiles, in some easy to wear and timeless styles. Stay tuned!
