A very rare find in this condition, a pair of pillowcases to take standard pillows.
 
Probably English, the linen is handwoven and the monogram (hard to tell the initials!) is art nouveau just beautiful. The edge is drawn thread work and ladder stitch, edging the flange. The buttons are beatiful antique hand carved shell (mother of pearl), and there are six per pillowcase with hand stitched button holes.
